Larkfield Lanes in East Northport was jammed packed on Sunday night, November 5, 2017 for the Moonjumpers Charitable Foundation fundraising event that raised monies to help to support the Family Service League and Tri-Community and Youth Agency’s Project T.O.Y. (Treasures Our Youth) initiative.
All bowling lanes were filled to capacity as bowling balls rolled down alleys for three hours while “The Grid” played a collection of classic rock hits. The large crowd dined on “Big Bear” pizza and took chances on a variety of interesting raffles.
Moonjumpers also collected about 400 winter jackets that are already in the process of being distributed to homeless and needy community members through the VA Medical Center, Tri-CYA, Huntington Interfaith Housing Initiative, Family Service League and Pederson-Krag.
It was an outstanding event for a great cause. Thanks to the support of our friends at Larkfield Lanes in East Northport we are able to make the holidays brighter for families in need. The tremendous outpouring of support from the community who donated hundreds of coats for various shelters in the area is extremely heartwarming.
Project T.O.Y. gives parents of struggling families an opportunity to choose two new unwrapped gifts for their children. The annual holiday boutique at the Tri-CYA facility is a time of pure joy parents who are excited to be able to provide their children with toys that they otherwise would not be able to afford.
It’s truly amazing to see the overwhelming increased support from our community year after year. The coats just kept coming through the door as the Moonjumpers collected about 400 winter jackets that have been distributed to homeless and needy community.
