It all began with an idea…
In 2011, a group of community-minded Huntington friends formed Moonjumpers Charitable Foundation, Inc., to help those in need. Partnering with local charities and corporate sponsors, Moonjumpers provides financial assistance, essential items, and helping hands for local children, families, and war veterans.
Since its inception, Moonjumpers Charitable Foundation has raised and distributed more than $1 million to help the residents of Huntington and surrounding areas. These proceeds have supported many Veteran initiatives, such as the supply of food and care packages, home-build projects, and the training of an emotional support dog. Moonjumpers has also sponsored children's summer camps, education and scholarships, animal rescues, food banks, holiday essentials, and prom dresses.
At the Annual community event day, Moonjumpers volunteers provide the muscle to improve the infrastructure and help beautify facilities and landmarks like the Long Island State Veterans Home, Beacon House at the VA Hospital, the Boy Scout and Girl Scout camps, St. Patrick’s RC Church, Victim of Domestic Violence, North Shore Holiday House, Huntington Tri-CYA and the Lewis Oliver Farm.
Moonjumpers Charitable Foundation has received community recognition, including the Best of Melville Award for several years. Moonjumpers is one of the few organizations certified by the Suffolk County Department of Audits and Control. This certification permits us to help support local Veteran initiatives and distribute essentials to those Veterans in need.
