Spreading Holiday Magic: Moonjumpers and Community Partners Support Tri-CYA’s Project Toy

This holiday season, the Moonjumpers organization proudly joined forces with our generous corporate sponsors, National Grid and PSEG, to bring joy to families in need through the Tri-Community and Youth Agency’s (Tri-CYA) beloved Project Toy initiative. For over 30 years, Project Toy has been a vital program in our community, providing gifts to children from Huntington, South Huntington, and Cold Spring Harbor. It ensures that every child, regardless of their family’s financial circumstances, can experience the magic of the holidays.

The heartwarming mission of Project Toy is rooted in more than just gift-giving. Parents and guardians are invited to select presents that suit their children’s interests, fostering a sense of dignity and empowerment during a season that can be particularly challenging. What began as a small effort has grown into a cherished tradition that brings together local organizations, businesses, and community members.

This year, Moonjumpers was honored to contribute to this effort, with the help of our dedicated partners, National Grid and PSEG. Together, we worked to collect, donate, and wrap hundreds of toys, ensuring each one would bring a smile to a child’s face. Key to our success were the amazing local businesses that opened their doors as collection sites, including Nicky’s in Centerport and Napper Tandy’s. These establishments not only served as convenient drop-off points but also rallied their patrons to contribute generously to this cause.

The toys poured in, filling boxes with dolls, trucks, puzzles, games, and more, each gift a token of kindness from someone in the community. The wrapping sessions were a labor of love, with volunteers transforming these donations into beautifully wrapped presents, ready to be delivered to families. The festive energy was contagious, as everyone worked together, united by the shared goal of making the holidays brighter for those in need.

Thanks to the combined efforts of Tri-CYA, Moonjumpers, National Grid, PSEG, and our collection site partners, countless families will wake up to the joy of the season, knowing their community cares. For many, these gifts represent more than just toys—they are a symbol of hope, support, and the strength of a community that comes together when it matters most.

As we reflect on the success of this year’s Project Toy, we are reminded of the power of small acts of kindness. Whether it’s dropping off a gift at Nicky’s or Napper Tandy’s, donating time to wrap presents, or simply spreading the word, every effort makes a difference. Together, we’ve helped ensure that the magic of the holidays reaches as many families as possible.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to this incredible initiative. With your help, the true spirit of the season shines brightly in our community. From all of us at Moonjumpers, thank you, and may your holidays be filled with joy, love, and the warmth of giving.
